Our first night out

A few weeks ago....ok who am I kidding - more like a month ago, The H and I had our first real official night out together without the babe. Yes she's 2 1/2, and yes I know that sounds out right CRAZY, but it's true! We've been to the occasional wedding without her, and even out for a few hours without her, but never a full fledged night out - which included dinner, drinks and some fun!

He surprised me with tickets to see Green Days "American Idiot" at the Merriam Theatre in Philadelphia. We had such a great time!!! We went with The H's-niece and soon to be husband, and my SIL. What great company, we laughed snd laughed and truly had so much fun!
While I'm not a die hard GD fan, I've always liked their music over the years, and I've heard this show was amazing! We started off the night with Dinner at a little Italian restaurant called Maggiano's. the food was AMAZING! As was the atmosphere. Quiet and cozy. We would absolutely go back! Then time for the show.
I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen an off broadway or broadway play, we'll ever! Sure I've been to our local playhouse, which is great, but honestly the two can't even compare!

The show was really great, with an awesome cast, they played all the hits and more. I was honestly sad when it was over!

We really had such a great time, and are already looking at what show/shows we are going to see next., hmmm.....Wicked, Avenue Q - the possibilities are endless!!!!

So readers, tell me what are some of you're favorite shows?

Trying to be funny, but I really wanna cry

After what seems like 4 months of constant colds, flus, stomach bugs - and yet again another round of the flu, this girl wants to curl up in the fetal position and cry. I would settle for a nice ten hours of sleep though at this point, is that too much to ask??!!

Weekend Review

We had a crazy exhausting but FUN weekend! Friday night marked our very first sleepover for little miss! Her cousin slept over (which happened to be his first sleepover too!). The kids had a blast!!!

We played, watched some movies and then I camped out on the floor with the kids knowing, not only was Sophia not going to take well to not sleeping with her Mama but neither was Ian. I was right! While they fell asleep ok both were up in the middle of the night, crying, (Sophia was missing her papa, and Ian was missing both his parents). I calmed them down a little until they woke up again at 5:30 in more tears. We finally woke up, and just cuddled on the couch watching Brave.
All in all they had fun! It was definitely new to both of them, but I foresee more sleepovers soon!

Saturday morning we got ready for our towns annual St Patty's Day parade.

The kids had fun, but were super cold!! Thank God it was over pretty soon and we headed out for some lunch!

Today has been pretty quiet: laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning - ya know, the norm!! Sophia has been quite the character, dressing up and singing. I swear, I just LOVE this age minus the crazy temper tantrums and meltdowns (and did I mention the indecisiveness??!! One minute she wants something the next minute she doesn't!).

But boy is she sweet!!!!

Last Week (In Pictures)

Finally tried the Sticker Mani. I've bought so many versions of these from Sally Hansen to Loreal, and these Kiss. I've heard so many people say they are easy and they live the no mess (with a toddler I thought these would for sure be a hit!). But no bueno! They were a pain to apply, and then even after filing they felt rough. After two days they started to lift, and I ended up peeling them all off! Granted I didn't do a top coat, but really not sure I will be rushing to try these again. FAIL

I decorated for Spring!!! After a 55 degree day last week, I was ready!!! Now it's snowed twice and they are calling for more this week! Oye!

Sophia got an early St Patty's Day package in the mail from her Grammy Pat! She was beyond excited and couldn't wait to open it.

Wednesday night me and my girlfriend saw Tristan Prettyman and Anya Marina at a local venue in Philly. If you know me you know that I absolutely love TP! She is one my favorite ladies, raw and beautiful. We've followed her for many years and I'm so happy she has finally gotten the recognition she deserves! If you haven't heard of her, check her out here!
We were able to meet her afterwards and she is just as sweet as I could have imagined!

We crawled in around 1am, let me tell you - I HAVE NOT done that in many, many years. I was feeling it the next day! And for the record, I'm 34 not 40. In case you were wondering.

Also I know there's been a ton of bloggers posting about the close of google friend connect, and like most bloggers im jumping over to Bloglovin too. You can click on the little button at the top of my page to follow!

Is this really happening? And other random thoughts on a Friday.

Seriously - for the first time in, well WEEKS - I finally found the desire to post, or write something, anything for that matter & stupid blogger is having issues uploading my photos? You suck blogger!

Anyhow, is it really March? Is Easter really right around the corner? Did I really wake up to snow Friday morning. You betcha.

This weather is making me long for spring, for warmer weather, summer dresses, and for the love of all things holy - sandals! My feet are dying to break free. With temperatures hopefully hitting the high sixties next week maybe, just maybe they'll get their wish!

In other news, little miss got her first ever hair cut last weekend. Girlfriend was SO excited! Miss Dana did an excellent job, and afterwards we went out and celebrated with some lunch and lots of shopping. LOTS of shopping! Which in my opinion, is ALWAYS the best way to celebrate! This weekend the sun finally started to shine, temperatures climbed up to 55 degrees, and I finally took the Spring / Easter decorations out and went to town. We finished up last night witha yummy dinner, and the movie Flight. Denzel Washington is just amazing. If you're looking for a great movie to watch - I highly reccommen this one, what a great flick!
